standard benchmarking app

is there a standard benchmarking app?, IIRC there was something a couple of years ago which read input from a text file + spat out the results, but i forget its name

im wanting to find out whats better with updating a texture, GL_BGR/BGRA/INTESITY with glCopyTextSubImage2d or glTexSubImage2d for various pixels sizes
